Known as something of a Renaissance Man by friends and business associates, Mark Haskett took up the guitar in high school so he could join his best friends rock band. Before that time Mark had been known more for his art and writing talents, both of which would later serve him well in his career as a graphic designer. Through the years he continued to write and perform music and to study (and write about) philosophy and comparative religion. The latter interest eventually culminated in InnerFaith Resources, an inter-religious bridge-building project now funded primarily by proceeds from Song of The Prophet.

A vocal performance major when she first joined ProphetSong, Katy Burroughs has been musically active in her school and congregational affiliations since the age of three. Proficient at both piano and celtic harp, her greatest passion is singing. Now married to a church music/choir director, Katy's post-graduate education has taken her in an entirely new direction, but she still hopes to record and perform her own music someday.

Having attended the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Dave Hawkes considers his study under notable drummers David Garibaldi and Dave Weckl as even more important to his development. Among the singers and musicians to whom he has contributed his vibrant and varied percussive styles are: Mic Gillette (Tower of Power), longtime Steely Dan saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus, and vocalists as distinctly different as The Ink Spots and Carol Channing.

After recording his first album at age 17, Lucky Lew went on to compose and add his music to numerous internationally-released recordings, on such major labels as V2 and Ultra. Many of his compositions may be recognized as backgrounds for broadcast commercials. While continuing to perform both live and in the studio, Lucky has increasingly focused on the production/engineering side. His guitar solos and other instrumental additions to Song of The Prophet are equaled only by his peerless recording and mixing expertise.

As testimony to his inventive and wide-ranging keyboard skills, Mark Littles first two CDs won back-to-back Grammy nominations in the category of Jazz. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Mark has toured and recorded with such diverse singers and musicians as Cleo Laine, Maria Muldaur, Bobby McFerrin, Willie Nelson and James Brown. Music is the voice of God, Mark says with a knowing smile, and I was blessed to be chosen as one of his musical messengers.

The same might be said of the the entire groups enthusiasm for Song of the Prophet. Gibrans poetry, by many accounts, is an expression of The Divine. ProphetSong is honored to have given voice to those words through music.
